Matcha is commercially graded from 1A to 6A to better understand its quality. Generally, the more A's a matcha has, the brighter and richer its green color, the smoother its taste with more umami and less bitterness; lower quality matcha is paler, yellower, more bitter and rougher. 5A matcha is bright green and creamy.
